What R-value do you install?+–
Florida's code minimum for these attics is R-30. Our blown-in standard is R-38. If you want to go higher, the planner on this site runs the inches before you call.
Fiberglass or cellulose?+–
Both work on an attic floor. Fiberglass is light and the usual choice for a top-up. Cellulose packs denser. The right one depends on what's already up there and how the attic is vented.
How long does a blown-in attic take?+–
A typical single-family attic is one day, including the air sealing. Spray foam on a roof deck takes longer because of masking and cure time.
Will the house smell?+–
Blown-in fiberglass and cellulose don't have a chemical cure smell. Spray foam does while it cures. We ventilate, and we don't treat a foam job like a blown-in job. If anyone in the house is sensitive, say so before we schedule.
Do you remove the old insulation?+–
If it's dry and just thin, we usually seal and top it up. If it's wet, moldy, or full of rodent mess, it comes out first. Removal is its own price. It is not buried inside a top-up number.
Is the planner a quote?+–
No. It's a planning range from attic size, depth, and material. It does not include removal, repairs, or a hard attic. The bid is the number we give after we see it — or after you text clear photos of the hatch and the existing fill.
